About Patricia Beechey
Patricia has more than 40 years of experience in education. As a teacher she has both taught in and worked with, a wide range of schools across the UK and internationally. Her roles within schools have been varied, but include 17 years as a Headteacher, leading an outstanding primary school in Surrey. Since leaving Headship, Patricia has continued to work as a freelance Education Consultant for both the International Values Education Trust and Arbor Education. Both roles have enabled Patricia to support leadership teams in trusts and schools as well as individual staff members, in developing pupil centred curriculums and management systems, which strive to keep children at the very centre of any school process.
Patricia has a clear and consistent vision, in that all educationalists have a responsibility to realise the potential of every child through the provision of an all encompassing environment that constantly develops to meet the educational, emotional, social and physical needs of a child, in order for them to become happy and fulfilled adults who can become active and responsible participants in society. The practice of Values based Education is the driving force of that vision.
Patricia believes that in order to become a successful educational establishment that can meet the needs of its pupils, the whole school community must begin by formulating their own vision of what they wish to achieve and going forward, that each decision taken, or system implemented must be judged against its contribution to that vision.
